Bond Street is the most famous gallery in Buenos Aires for the gathering of many subcultures. If you are a goth, punk, hardcore, skater, graffiter, hip hopper, you'll probably know about it. Three floors with alternative stores, where you find clothes, imported cd's, great books, shoe makers (platforms, fetish boots...etc), vintage toys, tatoo, skater apparel, etc etc. But the interesting thing about the gallery is that people gather together not to consume, or buy, but to show off their own garment, get together with friends, and walk along the gallery. I did that myself, when I was 14 years old and I still did not go to nightclubs or pubs. It was the gathering point where you could find weird imported cd's from weird bands (german ones for example, in my case), where you learned about the underground scene. Nowadays it seems that the same is happening there. For more information: http://www.xbondstreet.com.ar/

"Styles which start life on the street corner have a way of ending up on the backs of top models on the world’s most prestigious fashion catwalks. This shouldn’t surprise us because the authenticity which streetstyle is deemed to represent is a precious commodity."Everyone wants a piece of it."
